LAPPEASUANDO - THE MEETING PLACE
At Lappeasuando - close to the road E 10 - between Gällivare and Kiruna - Lappeasuando Gästgiveri och Fiskecamp might be found. This fishing camp is located upstream in the Kalix River, very beautifully located next to the lower rapid of the mother river - called Tervaskoski. This scenic establishment is located within a stone´s throw of the confluence of the Kaitum- and Kalix Rivers, in a genuine, Lappish woodland. The five fishing-cabins and the sauna establishments are constructed with the charcoal-stack as model, built by round timber with plenty of space for the visitor. Lappeasuando
Gästgiveri offers a wide variety of wilderness- and fishing experiences. Here are - among other things - Europe´s longest rapid boats. Guided fishing-and rapid tours with rubber boat is one of several interesting activities. The owner and his staff have made the achievement of blending the pure wilderness hardships with first-rate activities for the entire family.
The word Lappeasuando means actually Flatselet " flat stretch of smooth water ". The location has excellent fishing grounds in connection to the Inn, predominantly downstream at Piilikurkkio. The grayling is the dominating fish, but there are opportunities for encountering the really large salmon.
